OnePlus has suddenly begun rolling out Android 10 to the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro after a very quick beta program.

“We are very excited to announce that we are ready to roll out OxygenOS version 10.0 based on Android 10,” the firm announced in its customer forum. “This OTA [over the air update] will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs.”

In a previous post, OnePlus described some of the changes that OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro users can expect in OxygenOS/Android 10, including expanded customization settings, smart display functionality in the lock screen’s ambient display, comprehensive privacy management, new notification modes, the Game Space environment for hardcore gamers, and Wi-Fi sharing. These features are in addition to the features Google added in Android 10, of course.

It’s nice to see handset makers quickly supporting Android 10 and refuting a past in which major upgrades were few and far between. Samsung, too, is expected to start testing Android 10 publicly on its own devices and could ship the final version before the end of the year.
