Heading for the Hills
Jayman could have opted for a different community instead of the Hills at Charlesworth for its home of the future. However, it felt the development by Cantiro Communities — formerly Beaverbrook Communities — was the go-to choice.
It is the right target customer, noted Desormeaux, pointing out the buyer who would buy in the Hills at Charlesworth is the same one who should be most motivated about the home of the future.
“It’s the perfect target audience, (the one) who has shown the most interest in this product,” said Desormeaux of the residential development that has been promoting progressive green living since it opened in mid-2016.
It’s also why Darian Martens ended up buying a home there. Going green is important for her.
Looking for about a year, she found a great fit when she came upon a Jayman Built home in the Hills at Charlesworth even though the net zero option wasn’t available to her when she purchased earlier this year.
“Jayman in itself even without the energy efficiency, for me, is top of the line,” said Martens, who is single and looking forward to her first home. “But when you add in the energy efficiency aspect of it and you really think of the cost savings after that, that is what really sealed the deal.”
Her home, at about 1,654 square feet, is just about in the final stages of construction and includes Jayman’s current standard solar energy system. Martens will be moving in around late November.
